Our story began one day in a German street market when one of our founders happened to make friends with a local carpenter.

The seed for our company was sown eleven years ago when one of our founders spotted a cedar wood shoe insole on sale at a street market in Germany. The insole had been handcrafted by a carpenter and carried the fresh, astringent scent of natural, organic cedar.

Now our founder knew a good product when he saw one, but decided to try the insole out over one, hot summer. To put it to the ultimate test, he dispensed with his socks and placed the insole inside his Timberland boots.
